While the bulk of the attention from the Australian All Schools Athletics Championships was focused on the remarkable achievements of Gout Gout, NSW athletes dominated the remainder of the weekend in Brisbane.

They finished up with a total of 87 gold medals over the course of the three days, as well as eight championship records and one national record.

Here’s how the All Schools played out for our elite NSW talents.

DAY ONE

On the opening day it was the steeplechasers who led the way, with Taylor Traecey (15 Girls) and Cameron Bloem (16 Boys) both winning their 2000m events by over 10 seconds.

Claudia Meaker (18 Women) smashed her SB by almost seven seconds to claim gold in the 1500m.

Alexia Mathison smashed the championship record by 0.31 seconds to win the 15 Girls 200m Hurdles, and backed it up with gold in the 80m 14 Girls.

Cameron Badger went one better in the 16 Boys Hurdles, breaking the national record by 0.61 seconds in a blistering run over the 200m.

An incredible throw from Cooper Dabin saw him victorious in the 16 Boys Hammer Throw by more than 10m to his nearest rival.

Paralympic representative Telaya Blacksmith recorded a season best of 12.36 to coast to victory in the PA 20 Women 100m.

Kody Wrench (15 Boys) had a day to remember with gold in the PA 100m and Shot Put.

James Atkins (14 Boys) set a championship record over the 90m Hurdles, beating the previous record by 0.19 seconds.

DAY TWO

Mia Wood cracked the championship record in the 400m 14 Girls Final, edging the previous record by 0.03 seconds.

Mason McGroder had similar luck in the Long Jump 17 Boys, with his wind-adjusted mark of 7.63m smashing the previous record by 0.13m.

Blacksmith continued her stellar All Schools campaign by winning the 200m PA 20 Women’s event.

Wrench made it three gold medals for the weekend with success in the 200m PA 15 Boys.

It was Badger who completed the 16 Boys Hurdles sweep with victory over 100m.

DAY THREE
Naomi Krajancic was the highlight of the day as she scorched the track, breaking the 400m 15 Girls championship record by 0.6 seconds.

Amalia Bond (15 Girls) went off the charts with her Triple Jump mark of 12.42m, with a jump that would’ve seen her claim silver in the 18 Girls.

Blacksmith chalked up her third gold after blitzing the field in the PA 20 Women Long Jump, while Maximos Papacostantinou (PA 17 Boys) won both the 800m and Long Jump.

Australian representative Izobelle Louison-Roe (18 Women) capped off a brilliant All Schools with gold in the High Jump, backing up her earlier wins in the Triple Jump and Long Jump.
