LISA FIAOLA CUP
North Sydney scored in the closing minutes to force a late 12-all draw with South Sydney at Redfern Oval.
Nyeema Tuua gave the visitors a dream start with first points in the 12th minute before Souths turned things around.
April Chappell and Markaylah Talanoa scored on either side of the break to put the Rabbitohs in front, before Kiara McGregor stretched the lead to a converted try through 43 minutes of play.
With time winding down it was a 59th minute Shenae Cassidy try that got them back to within two, with the Queenslander slotting the conversion to give the Bears a point.
EELS CRACK HALF CENTURY IN BOILOVER
Parramatta has handed the Roosters their second loss in a row and rocketed into premiership contention with a 50-4 victory at Eric Tweedale Stadium.
A first-half blitz saw the Eels post six tries and take a commanding 28-0 lead into the sheds.
When Sienna Bonello crossed for her second early in the second half the contest was as good as over as they raced in another four tries to crack the half century and climb to second spot in the process.
CENTRAL COAST DENIES PANTHERS
A first half hat-trick to Mia Vaotuua gave the Central Coast enough breathing room to overcome Penrith 24-10 at Woy Woy.
The classy centre continued her incredible tryscoring form with a treble in the opening 28 minutes to guide the Roosters to an ominous 20-6 halftime advantage.
It was game on when Aaliyah Womal brought up her double just two minutes into the second half.
The 20-10 scoreline remained for most of the half, before Brandy Simpson was able to score the match-sealing try for the Roosters inside the final 10 minutes.
KNIGHTS BEGIN THEIR STREAK
Newcastle made it back-to-back Lisa Fiaola wins with a comprehensive 40-8 defeat of St George at St John Oval.
The Knights raced out to a 22-4 halftime lead on the back of a Taylah-Jane Belcher double, giving the centre five tries in a fortnight.
Stevie Botham and Macey Cox both completed their doubles in the second half as they raced away to post 40 points in consecutive weeks.
BULLDOGS SHOW NO MERCY
Canterbury has pulled off the biggest scoreline of the NSWRL Junior Reps season with a 94-0 demolition job on Manly.
In an incredible first half display, the Bulldogs were able to race in nine tries and open up a 50-0 scoreline through the opening 30 minutes.
Tejahla-Jane Daniels-Maifea and Evelyn Roberts both led the way with doubles during that period.
They continued on with the job in the second half as they showed why they are the dominant force in the U17s girls competition.
Nazlyn Waaka-Rhind finished with four tries, with Asha Taumoepeau-Williams, Kiana Vatubua and Seriah Palepale adding doubles.
TARSHA GALE CUP
South Sydney is on the board in the Tarsha Gale Cup after downing North Sydney 22-8 at Redfern.
Centre Bronte Morrison was able to get the Bears on the board first, before Rabbitohs skipper Ava Osland helped her side to a 6-4 advantage at the break.
Abbie Ritchie then pushed the lead beyond a converted try early into the second half, before adding a second just minutes later to set the tempo for their maiden success.
ROOSTERS RECOVER IN STYLE
Sydney Roosters bounced back in style in the U19s womens, taking down Parramatta 26-10 at Eric Tweedale Stadium.
Fresh off their first defeat since 2021, the Roosters took 16 minutes to sound out the Eels, but were able to do so methodically to race out to an 18-0 lead at the break.
Aliyah Nasio came off the bench and completed her double just two minutes into the second half.
Parramatta scored two late tries with Sharlize Campbell in the sin bin to make the score respectable.
COSGROVE BRILLIANCE TAKES DOWN PANTHERS
Lara Cosgrove scored a hat-trick in a brilliant display to give Canberra a 32-8 victory over Penrith at Belconnen.
Montana McLean struck in less than three minutes as the visitors held an early 8-0 lead, before Cosgrove gave the Raiders a much-needed boost before the half.
By the midway point she brought up her hat-trick, with an Elise Simpson double putting the icing on the cake of Canberra’s second win of the year.
KNIGHTS TOO STRONG FOR ST GEORGE
Newcastle has made an emphatic statement with a 54-4 thrashing of St George at St John Oval.
It was an electric first half that saw them race out to a 30-0 lead at the halftime break, with Leelah Marks, Lily McNamara and Fane Finau all posting doubles in the opening 30 minutes.
Finau made it a treble midway through the second half as the Knights continued their onslaught to move deeper into the top six.
MANLY CAUSES UPSET OF THE SEASON
The Sea Eagles have ended the winning run of Canterbury with a 20-18 victory at Chester Hill.
Coming into the game with five-straight wins to their name, the Bulldogs started hot with a Hannah Makira double in the space of three minutes to lead 12-0 at the break.
Manly wasn’t disheartened, coming out of the sheds with belief and taking the lead 18-12 in the 44th minute after Indiana Russell-Lia crossed for her second.
Isla Talau tied the scores when she got over the line eight minutes from full-time.
But it was a penalty goal from Lili Boyle that proved the difference, edging the visitors in front with four minutes to go to claim a famous win.
HAROLD MATTHEWS CUP
A perfect first half has gifted Canterbury a crushing 48-12 defeat of Cronulla at the Terry Lamb Complex.
Five converted tries in the space of 18 minutes, including a Braith Sloane double, put the Bulldogs in an unbeatable position at 30-0 up through 24 minutes.
Kaden Garner gave Cronulla some life early in the second half, although Canterbury quickly responded through Hassan Rabaa and Azariah Toki-Mautairi to push further in front.
WESTS ROLL PAST TIGERS
Western Suburbs has continued its unbeaten run in dominant fashion with a 38-0 win over Balmain at Lidcombe Oval.
The Magpies looked every bit the class outfit with a 24-0 first half to keep the winless Tigers at arms length early.
Heamasi Makasini posted his second of the day with a beautiful fend and step midway through the second half to seal the result.
EELS HOLD OUT FAST FINISHING COAST
Parramatta had to dig deep late to hold off a rampaging Central Coast 28-21 at Woy Woy.
An Andes Johansson double had the Eels flying with a 22-0 lead through 20 minutes, before Isaac Fotu-Moala slotted a field goal with the last play of the half to give us the unconventional scoreline of 22-1.
The Roosters came out of the sheds firing, with a Jai Callaghan double inspiring three tries in eight minutes to cut their deficit back to nine with 15 minutes to play.
Kaidyn Peckham got the home side back to within a converted try, before a Lincoln Fletcher penalty goal put an end to the comeback.
RABBITOHS END LOSING RUN
South Sydney ended a four-game losing run to get over the top of North Sydney 38-16 at Redfern.
Prolific tryscorer Darcy Feltham was on the board again midway through the first half as they opened up a 16-6 halftime lead.
When Matt Simpson brought up his hat-trick for the Bears they were back in the contest at 22-16 with 20 minutes to play.
Just when it looked the visitors were storming home, Lisiate Mackay-Filihia was able to steady the ship for the home side to edge them beyond reach of the Bears.
STORM SURGES TO THRASH MANLY
Melbourne flew out of the blocks and never looked back on its way to a dominant 40-6 hammering of Manly in Officer.
Phoenix Woods had his double wrapped up in the opening nine minutes as the accurate boot of Waka Hammond saw the Storm lead 24-0 in the 19th minute.
Early in the second half they saw their lead balloon out to 40, with the Sea Eagles scoring just before the final siren to ensure they weren’t held to zero.
PENRITH COMEBACK FALLS SHORT
Canberra secured its first win of the Harold Matthews season with an almighty upset over Penrith 34-28 at Belconnen.
The Raiders opened up a 24-6 halftime lead and looked well on their way to victory as they lead 28-10 with less than 20 minutes to play.
That’s when Penrith clicked into gear, racing in three unanswered tries to lock things up at 28-all with five minutes to play.
Canberra held its composure and was able to cross late as Kruger Roache’s second try saw them claim victory in the dying stages.
RELENTLESS ROOSTERS SLAY DRAGONS
It was an emphatic performance from the Roosters as they hammered St George 46-16 at Woy Woy.
Bailey Roberts-Lintmeijer had two early tries as Sydney raced out to a 24-6 lead at the break, with Eddy Cayless stretching that advantage to 24 soon after halftime.
Isaac Mikhail got the Dragons back on track inside the final 20 minutes and Riley Brannock cut the margin to 14 in the 51st minute, but their run was left too late as the Roosters continued their winning run with Roberts Lintmeijer finishing with a treble.
WARRIORS GO STREAKING
Another strong defensive showing has helped the New Zealand Warriors into the top six for the first time this season.
They climbed into a share of fifth after taking down the Illawarra Steelers 26-16 at Pukekohe to notch their third win on the trot.
Hudsyn Frost scored a double for the home side to give them a 10-point buffer at the half.
Axel Antony cut the margin to a converted try when he brought up his double, before Jack Thompson and Siale Pahulu were able to swing the momentum back in the hosts favour.
SG BALL CUP
A late surge helped Canterbury power away for a dominant 50-18 defeat of Cronulla at the Terry Lamb Complex.
Ratu Rinakama scored twice early to help the Bulldogs pull away to a 14-0 advantage early, before the Sharks hit back to tie it up at the break.
It was still anyone’s game with the home side leading 26-18 with 20 minutes to play, before a Bulldogs blitz took away any hope the Sharks had.
Rinakama brought up his hat-trick to lead his side to four tries in a 10-minute period to pull away for the big win.
MAGPIES PULL AWAY FROM TIGERS
A gritty Balmain wasn’t able to overcome the might of Western Suburbs as they fell 40-10 at Lidcombe Oval.
Despite falling behind early the Tigers were able to level things up at 10-all, before Navren Willett edged the Magpies ahead by six at the break.
NRL prospect Tallyn Da Silva pushed that lead out to 16 with a second half double, before Callum McMenemy brought up four tries for the afternoon to round out the win.
RABBITOHS STAY ALIVE
South Sydney kept its slim SG Ball finals hopes alive with a 38-6 victory over North Sydney at Redfern Oval.
With anything less than a win ending their season, Yasin Kuscu got the Rabbitohs off to a flyer with a try inside three minutes as they charged out to lead 22-0 at the break after Kuscu grabbed his second just before halftime.
Daniel Wright scored a quick-fire double in the second half to stretch the lead beyond five converted tries to help Souths back into the winner’s circle.
KNIGHTS DENY EELS IN THRILLER
Newcastle flexed its muscles with a fourth-straight SG Ball success courtesy of a 20-16 defeat of Parramatta.
A Harley Walker double in the space of three minutes lifted them to a 12-0 advantage before Devonte Vaivela was able to keep the Eels within range prior to halftime.
It was Walker again that pushed the Knights further in front as he made it a hat-trick just minutes into the second half.
Vaivela had his second and Javahn Stevenson-Hala got the Eels back to within four inside the final four minutes, but Newcastle held solid for a solid win.
SEA EAGLES STRIKE DOWN STORM
Manly caused a major upset and dented Melbourne’s finals hopes with a 20-6 win at Comely Banks Reserve.
The Sea Eagles were searching for their first win of the season and looked good early after racing out to a 10-0 lead, with Matari Donovan stretching it to 14 just before the break.
Suli Pole gave the Storm some hope when he crossed, before Alton Naiyep took the wind out of their sails to seal it 15 minutes from full-time.
ROOSTERS THRASH ST GEORGE
The Sydney Roosters were in a mood as they demolished St George 46-10 to remain on top of the SG Ball Cup standings.
Captain Blake Steep scored on either side of halftime to give the Roosters an imposing 28-0 margin early into the second half.
Jesse Williams hit back with a double of his own to give the Dragons some hope midway through the half, before the Roosters closed the door in an instant.
They closed off the game with three tries in the final 10 minutes to put the exclamation mark on a big win.
RAIDERS LET LOOSE ON PANTHERS
Canberra has moved to within a win of the top six after smashing Penrith 44-4 at Belconnen.
The Raiders looked on from the start and raced out to a 26-0 lead with the accurate boot of Braydon Darmody moving them up in sixes.
By the time Ethan Alaia had his second of the afternoon they opened that margin out to 44 in the 55th minute, giving every indication they are back in the fight.
STEELERS GET JOB DONE
Illawarra had to contend with the toughest road trip in the competition, but did so well to score a 32-24 defeat of New Zealand in Pukekohe.
The Steelers were coming off their first loss of the season and looked to make amends early as they held a 16-10 advantage at halftime.
A close battle ensued in the second half, with the visitors able to do enough and remain firmly entrenched in the finals race.
