NSWRL Junior Reps: Leading tryscorers, pointscorers from Fiaola, Gale, Matts, Ball Cup comps

With the NSWRL Junior Reps regular season in the books, it’s time to look back at who stood tall in the major scoring categories across all four grades.
LISA FIAOLA CUP
Canterbury was the dominant force in both attack and defence.
They scored 468 points in their eight games, 230 more than Illawarra who finished second in that category.
The Bulldogs also conceded just 48 points, 30 less than the next best (Central Coast).
That translated to the individual honours with Olivia Vaalele leading all scorers with 116 points (four tries, 49 goals), 50 points ahead of Central Coast’s Breanna Bigeni (nine tries, 15 goals).
Central Coast centre Mia Vaotuua led all tryscorers with 13, one ahead of Canterbury’s Asha Taumoepeau-Williams with Cronulla’s Felila Fakalelu a further try behind with 11.
HAROLD MATTHEWS CUP
Again it was Canterbury who led all teams in scoring with 298 for the season, 48 ahead of the Magpies.
Parramatta held favour in the defensive stats however, conceding 105 points for the season with Wests second-best with 114 and Canterbury narrowly behind on 118.
Breakout Magpies star Heamasi Makasini led both the tryscoring and pointscoring tallies with his 10 tries helping him to a season tally of 96 points.
Paul Johnson (Canterbury) and Bailey Roberts-Lintmeijer (Roosters) both had eight tries, while the boot of Parramatta’s Lincoln Fletcher lifted him to 84 points in 2024.
TARSHA GALE CUP
Illawarra solified its position at the dominant force in the U19s women competition to lead the way in both key stats.
Their 344 points scored was 46 clear of the Bulldogs, with their defensive best of 28 points conceded 22 points clear of Canterbury.
The Steelers dominated the top tryscorers with Indie Bostock (13) and Evie McGrath (11) the top two, just ahead of Canberra’s Elise Simpson (10).
Chelsea Savill’s 64 points for the year saw her take that honour for the Steelers, just two points ahead of Danii Nicole Gray (Manly) and Lara Cosgrove (Canberra).
SG BALL CUP
Newcastle’s attacking flair saw them top the points scored tally with 314, just eight ahead of the Bulldogs.
The defensive leaders were St George and the Sydney Roosters, with the pair conceding 154 points through nine games.
The Knights were 14 points behind in third.
St George flyer Jesse Williams was a clear leader in the tryscoring ranks with 13, three ahead of Richard Whalebone (Cronulla) and Baxter Warner (Roosters).
Connor Votano’s three tries and 41 goals saw him top the pointscoring ranks for the Knights, six points ahead of Canterbury’s Alex Conti.
