Strength of CHS’s two U18s rugby squads and the school dominating selection

City, country and bush players have cracked CHS’s two U18 rugby squads but young guns from one school have earned the lions share of spots. What the coach thinks of his young guns.

City, country, bush and regional players have cracked the CHS under 18 rugby squad but young guns from one school have earned the lions share of spots.

Homebush Boys High, Hunter Sport High School, Farrer Memorial Agricultural school and Killara have two players named in the two squads named.

Areas well outside Sydney are also we represented with two players from Narrabri in the squad and others from country areas including Dubbo and Leeton.

But it is Hills Sport High School which has the biggest representation with six players -

Jordan Bunt, Junior Fatui, Michael Nasser, Sevuloni, Na’oia’ehanisi and Kelvyn Togia all making the cut.

“They have a really good rugby program at the school ands they have come along in leaps and bounds in the past few years,’’ said CHS coach Matt Crawford.

The northern beaches is also well represent with players from across assorted schools, including Max Marsters from NBSC Balgowlah Boys Campus and Kieran Holland from NBSC Freshwater senior campus.

Sid Harvey from the north west region was rewarded for being Player of the Tournament at last weeks championships as was Sydney North captain Isaiah Kolopeaua who lead his team to victory at the event in Newcastle.

“They look strong, big and with a good forward pack and a mobile back line with good skill sets,’’ Crawford said after selection.

“What’s also good is we have a lot of boys back form last year like Max Marsters, Isaiah Kolopeaua and Callum Dunn.

“So our strength will be our depth because these boys know the structures/

“The motto is the team is never give up and family and that everyone works for each other.’’
