FULLBACK
Aiden Menzies (Camden, 41% of votes)
Safe as houses in the No.1, Camden’s Aiden Menzies not only impressed the coaching staff, but also the punters, securing the fullback spot in a landslide victory.
WINGERS
Eddie Aiono (Camden, 39%) and Casey Timmer (The Oaks, 19%)
An off-season signing, experienced flyer Eddie Aiono was tipped to become a fan favourite before a ball was kicked. Didn’t let anyone down on the way to scoring 16 tries.
Casey Timmer backed up a fine 2023 with another strong season. All heart, the whippet in headgear crossed nine times and never shirked the tough carries.
CENTRES
Jack Miller (Camden, 29%) and Elliott Moaga (Oakdale, 17%)
Fans can’t get enough of Jack Miller. Last year the versatile powerhouse won a spot in the back-row, and 12 months later he’s back again after claiming a premiership and leading all scorers with 232 points.
Elliott Moaga spent the early rounds in the No.1 jumper before shifting to an edge where his thirst for contact continued to carry Oakdale out of plenty of strife.
FIVE-EIGHTH
Mitchell Brasington (The Oaks, 39%)
After almost guiding The Oaks to a drought breaking title, Mitchell Brasington felt the love from the outer, walking into the people’s team with a swag full of votes.
HALFBACK
Daniel Payne (The Oaks, 39%)
Daniel Payne’s stunning finals campaign for the Tigers proved enough to edge out Camden’s premiership winning captain Brad Speechley by the barest of margins.
On any other day, his grand final exploits would have been enough to secure a miraculous victory.
PROPS
Danny Fualalo (Camden, 43%) and Joseph Ualesi (The Oaks, 23%)
It was one way traffic at the head of the engine room with Camden wrecking ball Danny Fualalo racing away with a truck load of votes. Seems to get better with age and capped off another fine season with a second Macarthur title.
The off-season arrival of Joseph Ualesi from Oakdale proved a significant factor in The Oaks’ rise up the ladder. Damaging at both ends of the field, the likeable prop took his game to another level.
HOOKER
John Martin (Camden, 29%)
Camden’s Mr Reliable, John Martin is always on hand to point the side in the right direction. With two titles in three seasons, Rams fans wouldn’t trade him for anyone.
SECOND-ROWERS
Trent Peoples (Camden, 36%) and Josh Carr (Oakdale, 25%)
A crucial signing, Trent Peoples was immense on and off the field for Camden. Struck up a lethal combination with five-eighth Jackson Willis, and the former Rabbitoh lifted everyone in his presence.
Another nominated in last year’s team, Josh Carr braved a season of niggling injuries to once again nail a spot in the back row.
LOCK
Kohan Lewis (The Oaks, 44%)
With 44 per cent of the votes, Kohan Lewis is the most popular player in the Macarthur comp. A regular in the Wests Tigers pathways, the Oaks middle has come a long way during his early days of senior footy.
