The Maroubra man was charged following a six-month investigation following a report made to South Australia Police about a young girl being groomed on Skype.

South Australia Police allegedly linked Clark to the Skype account in question with AFP child protection officers executing a search warrant of his Maroubra home and seizing two mobile phones.

The criminal matter was briefly mentioned in court on Monday where an adjournment was granted to July 20. No pleas have yet been entered.

The Maroubra man, who remains on conditional bail, made no comment to waiting media as he left court.

AFP acting inspector Jeremy Staunton said the AFP works closely with police around Australia to identify alleged offenders and ensure the safety of all children.

“Supervision and open communication with your children helps keep them safe from online threats and helps you to act quickly and prevent them from experiencing any possible physical abuse, as was the case in this investigation,” he said.

Members of the public who have any information about people alleged to be involved in child abuse and exploitation are urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online.
