DAVID Warner was bowled for just two runs in Randwick Petersham’s first two-day game against UNSW on Saturday.
Playing at Coogee Oval, the Randy Petes bowled UNSW out for 270 with Adam Semple (4/50) and Jason Sangha (3/43) the pick of the bowlers.
The Randy Petes began their response late in the day and lost Warner and Matt Everett (4) before the close.
It follows the former Australian vice-captain’s majestic 155 not out last week in the first round.
The firsts now face an uphill battle to get back into the game next weekend.
Second grade produced an excellent batting performance with Matt Calder (110) and Irishman Harry Tector (118) both reaching triple figures.
The Randy Petes declared on 388-9 before the close, hoping to take a couple of UNSW wickets.
But the university side saw out the day to finish 26 not out.
Tom Holland (92), Jack Lyle (58) and Hayden Fox (50) helped third grade build a strong total of 267 in their clash at Petersham Oval.
Two wickets late in the day puts them in a good position for their first win of the season when play resumes next week.
Two of the biggest characters at the club both found form in fourth grade as Jaya Murdita (97) and Ash Burton (72) helped the green and gold to 251.
With a strong bowling attack they look good to bounce back from a round one defeat.
Sam Boyns (3/53 off 15) was the pick of the bowlers in fifth grade. He bowled UNSW out for 177 runs at Kensington Oval.
They will resume on day two at 2/31.
