MARINE explorer John Turnbull has devoted countless hours to capturing the kaleidoscopic beauty of Sydney’s teeming underwater world.

From weedy seadragons in Botany Bay to Port Jackson sharks at Manly, The Underwater Research Group (URG) president, has amassed a massive collection of photos and video illustrating the wondrous forms of life still thriving in the coastal waters.

This year, Mr Turnbull’s photos feature in NewsLocal’s #SnapSydney campaign, now in its fifth year.

Take part in the #SnapSydney campaign, which culminates on November 15, by sharing photos of your family, favourite local spots or landmarks and loveable local larrikins.

The URG Dive Club is the Underwater Research Group of New South Wales, and is a non commercial organisation of people who share an interest in, and a commitment to the underwater world.

Its aim is to further all aspects of underwater exploration, research, safety, photography and sport

NewsLocal’s #SnapSydney campaign returns for its fifth year on Thursday, November 15, when Sydneysiders will set out to capture the heart and soul of their city and share their photos on social media across 24 hours.
