A tradesman who died while operating a cherry picker close to powerlines in Sydney's east has been remembered as a beloved father.

A tradesman who tragically died in workplace incident in Sydney’s east while operating a cherry picker close to powerlines has been identified.
Brett Hinton, a distribution line worker for Ausgrid, was operating a cherry picker while working with powerlines on Darley Rd on May 22.
Emergency services were called to the scene after receiving reports the 47-year-old had been seriously injured.
He was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a critical condition and died.
Ausgrid issued a statement after the incident and said it was reviewing the circumstances and working with SafeWork NSW and police.
The company said the safety and wellbeing of their employees and customers was the number one priority and they were supporting staff and Mr Hinton’s family during this sad time.
A GoFundMe page was created at the request of Mr Hinton’s colleagues to support his partner during this difficult time.
“The hearts of Brett Hinton’s family, friends, and colleagues were shattered by the tragic news of a serious incident that claimed Brett’s life,” it states.
“Brett was a dedicated and highly respected Distribution Lineworker at Ausgrid, where he served with skill and commitment for over 13 years.
“His professionalism, warmth, and unwavering work ethic left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.”
The community took to Facebook to express their condolences for the highly regarded tradie.
“This is the most devastating news ever. Brett Hinton was such an amazing friend and father and his loss is immeasurable. May he rest eternally in peace and his family and loved ones somehow heal from this tragedy,” a woman wrote.
