A Hells Angels bikie has faced court after police searched his South Coogee home and uncovered steroids.

Meyez Elkerdi, 28, was given a $1200 fine and convicted at Waverley Local Court on Wednesday for possessing two vials of steroids (testosterone enanthate).

The police facts stated Mr Elkerdi was a “full patched member” of the Hells Angels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang at the time of the search on December 2, 2018.

He had earlier been served with a firearm and weapons prohibition order and a search of his home was carried out to make sure he was keeping the order.

Police found the steroids in a cupboard in his bedroom during the search, the agreed facts state.

When police interviewed him he told them they weren’t his. However, he later pleaded guilty to possess a prohibited drug.

Magistrate Allison Hawkins spoke of the dangers of misusing steroids during the sentence.

“You just need to visit some gyms in the eastern suburbs to see the effects of the drug for people who overuse it,” she said.

Steroids are commonly used to increase testosterone and boost muscle growth and development, but can lead to adverse side effects such as kidney or liver damage.
