A spate of posters have been hit with graffiti in a marginal eastern suburbs electorate overnight.
Corflutes for Coogee’s Liberal candidate Kylie Von Muenster were sprayed with crude graffiti, including the word “scum”, as the election battle ramps up.
Dr Von Muenster told this publication the corflute vandalism was an “appalling act” however, she would remain focused on the challenge at hand.
“It just shows a lack of respect that we should have for each other,” she said.
“But I won’t be distracted. I’m focused on talking to people about the important decision they’ll be making today for our families and our future, and keep NSW moving forward.”
Absolutely disgraceful behaviour in Coogee today. Everyone has the right to display electoral material and all volunteers and candidates deserve to be treated with respect. #nswpolpic.twitter.com/hza5n49Sqw

Liberal Upper House MLC Chris Rath voiced his displeasure with the vandalism.
“Absolutely disgraceful behaviour in Coogee today,” Mr Rath said. “Everyone has the right to display electoral material and all volunteers and candidates deserve to be treated with respect.”
It appears the posters were vandalised overnight as Dr Von Muenster will look to overturn the seat which is currently held by Labor’s Marjorie O’Neill on a slim margin of 2.3 per cent.
