Troubled former footballer Kerem Bulut is back in custody on remand after allegedly robbing a man of $2100 and designer items.

Kerem Bulut, 31, did not appear when the charges of aggravated robbery and deprives person of liberty were mentioned at Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday.

Court documents reveal between 11.30pm on August 31 and 3am on September 1 at South Coogee, Bulut allegedly robbed a man of $2100, a blue Louis Vuitton wallet, a blue Fendi jumper and a Bose speaker.

Police will also allege Bulut “immediately before the robbery intentionally or recklessly inflicted actual bodily harm … and deprived him of his liberty”.

The former Western Sydney Wanderers striker was apprehended about 4.45pm on Monday, court documents state.

Bulut featured for several Australian junior national teams before making his professional debut in the Czech Republic before moving to Turkey.

The 31-year-old moved back to Australia in 2015 to play a handful of A-League games for the Wanderers over two stints.

His career came to an sudden end in 2018 when playing in Turkey where he was issued with a four-year ban after testing positive for cocaine.

In court on Tuesday, Bulut’s lawyer Ms Dempsey asked for her client’s release application to be relisted for September 18.

She also asked for brief service orders to be made, with Magistrate Ian Guy granting both requests.

The magistrate accepted the recent alleged incident was a breach of bail on an unrelated matter, despite this not being admitted by Bulut’s lawyer.

The matter will return to court on Monday
