A young NRL star was busted driving a BMW in Mascot while his provisional licence was suspended.
Davvy Edward Drollett Moale is a prop for the South Sydney Rabbitohs and played for the Cook Islands team for the Pacific Championships last year.
Moale faced Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday for sentence and pleaded guilty to driving while suspended.
Magistrate Fiona McCarron handed him a six-month conditional release order without a conviction.
Court documents state the 22-year-old was driving along Wentworth Ave, Mascot when he was pulled over for a random breath test on May 8.
Police state Moale was driving a black BMW and when he pulled out a digital driver’s licence, officers noticed a banner stating his licence had been suspended.
“My suspension ends today,” Moale told police.
Moale’s licence was still suspended, police checks confirmed. No drugs or alcohol were found in his system.
He was arrested and his licence was suspended until August 7.
Moale graduated from Waverley College in 2020 and played for Coogee Randwick Wombats.
He made his NRL debut in 2021 with the South Sydney Rabbitohs. In 2024 he played 23 games for the Rabbitohs, scoring his first try against the Broncos in round two.
