Coogee missing surfer: Man, 31, found safe
A surfer has been found safe and well following a search at Coogee. The search began on Tuesday night, amid big swells, and started again on Wednesday morning.

A surfer believed missing off Coogee has been found safe and well, after the 31-year-old man made his way to shore and was unaware of a search.
Emergency services were called to Coogee Beach shortly after 5pm on Tuesday following reports a surfer was struggling in rough conditions about 200m off shore.
A search began with the assistance of a rescue helicopter and started again on Wednesday morning.
However, on Wednesday about noon, police confirmed he had been found safe and well.
A 31-year-old man contacted police today and he has been identified as the missing surfer. He had made his way to shore and was unaware of the search.
Police would like to thank the media and the community for their assistance.
Coogee Beach was closed on Wednesday morning with a sign reading “dangerous conditions”.
