Clovelly: Schoolgirl approached by man, police issue warning

Police are asking the public for help to identify a man who allegedly approached a schoolgirl in Clovelly.
About 8.10am on Wednesday, a 12-year-old girl was walking to school along Clovelly Rd when she was approached by an unknown man.
Police have been told the man was driving a black hatchback when he pulled over on the opposite side of the road near Flood St, opened the door and motioned for the child to come towards him.
The girl ran away and alerted school authorities.
The incident was reported to police who commenced an investigation.
As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The man is described as being of caucasian appearance, aged in his 40s, skinny to medium build with short light brown hair that has been shaved on the sides.
He was last seen wearing sunglasses and was driving a small black hatchback.
Inquiries are continuing.
