A man has tragically died in a workplace accident in Sydney’s south-east after being struck by a reversing forklift in a container terminal.

A man has tragically died in a workplace accident in Sydney’s south-east after being struck by a reversing forklift in a container terminal.
Emergency services were called at about 7.30pm on Thursday to the container port in Banksmeadow.
The man in his 50s was treated on scene for his serious injuries by paramedics and taken to St George Hospital in a critical condition.
Despite the best efforts of emergency staff, he died in hospital.
A crime scene was established by officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command, and investigations have commenced by both police and Safework NSW.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
