IT’S time to start showing your love for where you live with a snap.

Our #SnapSydney campaign returns for its fifth year on Thursday, November 15, when Sydneysiders will set out to capture the heart and soul of their city and share their photos on social media across 24 hours.

All you have to do to join in on our annual snapshot of Sydney is take a photo that embodies where your live and post it on Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #SnapSydney.

But you don’t have to wait until November 15 to get snapping. We want you to show us what you love most about your city now, starting by putting your food in the frame.

Share your mouth watering food moments on Instagram or Twitter with the #SnapSydney hashtag for your chance to be featured in our paper next week.

Sydney-based food influencer Katherine Gennusa from Lickyourphone said taking photos of your favourite meals was all about capturing a moment in time that you can reminisce about and share with loved ones.

“Sydney is bursting at the seams with amazing places to eat and sharing that love with the people closest to you is such a great way to celebrate the diverse city we live in,” she said.

“I mean, did you really eat that amazing dish if you didn’t take a pic and post it on social media?”

Ms Gennusa’s top tips for capturing the ultimate foodie shot on your phone include picking a good spot for lighting — the more natural light the better — and focusing on photographing dishes that are colourful and visually beautiful.

She said it is also important to think about the composition of your shot and make sure that the food is the main focus.

“Look out for unwanted objects creeping into the frame, such as dirty napkins or car keys,” she said.
