Martin Place came alive at lunchtime as Sydneysiders flocked there to celebrate #SnapSydney.

Office workers, families, tourists and school kids alike came to enjoy the sunshine and show off what they love most about the city.

Dressed in their corporate gear, office workers keen for a break sat on deck chairs, soaking in the Spring sun, and took in the live DJ set and tucked into Belgian waffles, gourmet chorizo rolls and ice creams — snapped up for free just by sharing a photo of the day with the hashtag.

There were photo zones set up with colourful displays of Taronga Zoo, complete with giraffes and tigers.

Annie Xu, visiting Sydney for the day with her family, said her children Paul and Sophia were having a fantastic time. The youngsters were able to pick up their own customised #SnapSydney sign by artist Arnie Arnold, inspired by the beaches and harbour.

School students who travelled in from Hornsby specially for the event launched into a spontaneous dance party, taking their own snaps to print out and take home at the Instagram picture station.
