Up to 27 homes under construction robbed of $40,000 worth of building materials

Up to 27 homes under construction in Schofields were broken into and $40,000 worth of lead flashing and copper piping stolen sometime between 4.30pm last Wednesday and 7am on Thursday.

SCHOFIELDS

Up to 27 homes under construction in Schofields were broken into and $40,000 worth of lead flashing and copper piping stolen sometime between 4.30pm last Wednesday and 7am on Thursday. A police report said homes under construction located in: Antonia Pde, Wildflower St and Alex Ave had property stolen and were damaged. Forensics and finger printing has been conducted at each property, however police would like to speak to any residents who may have noticed something suspicious occurring at any of the locations mentioned. ROUSE HILL

A Blue Suzuki Swift received $1000 worth of damage as it was parked along Grey Gum Ave sometime between 6pm on Thursday and 1pm on Friday. The car had its rear windscreen smashed and four tyres slashed.

A Rouse Hill woman, 36, was banned from shopping at a store in Castle Towers and given a criminal infringement notice after she was caught stealing $79 worth of grocery items on Saturday. At 12.30pm on Saturday, a women entered the store and placed some grocery items into a trolley and went to the self-service check- out. She then put some of the grocery items into a grey plastic bag and into her trolley again without paying for them. Then she scanned through and paid for some other grocery items before leaving the store. A store employee stopped her and called police, who located the stolen items and had them re1turned.

BOX HILL

A rescue at Box Hill on Friday came to a sad end when a horse had to be put down by a vet. Neighbours who noticed the 38-year-old mare missing from her paddock off Hynds Rd raised the alarm after finding Vanessa, the much-loved horse, stuck in a creek unable to get out. The Fire and Rescue crew from Castle Hill was called at just after 12.20pm and was joined by Blacktown Fire and Rescue, Box Hill Rural Fire Service volunteers, police and neighbours. Castle Hill station officer Leon Sayers said no-one knew how long the horse had been in the creek before she was rescued. “She was exhausted and dehydrated and couldn’t get back on her feet. A vet spoke to the owners about the mare’s welfare and the decision was made to put her down.“

KELLYVILLE

Investigations are ongoing into an Audii that was driven into bushland off Foxall Rd in Kellyville last Tuesday and set alight. Police and a Fire and Rescue team attended to a call of a car on fire at 1am in Foxal Rd to find the Audii alight in bushland. The fire was extinguished.

SCHOFIELDS

Police are investigating a fatal crash in Grange Ave, Schofields, that happened last Monday afternoon. Just after 3pm, emergency services were called to Grange Ave following reports of a two-vehicle crash. A Nissan Pulsar was travelling east on Carnarvon Rd when it collided with a Toyota Hilux travelling west on Grange Ave.The male driver of the Nissan died at the scene. The driver of the Hilux, a man aged in his 30s, was treated by paramedics for minor injuries. He was taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing. Officers from Quakers Hill Local Area Command attended and a crime scene was established. Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

ROUSE HILL

POLICE are investigating the stealing from a retail store at Rouse Hill Town Centre last Tuesday afternoon of a bottle of Vera Wang perfume called Love Struck. According to CCTV footage, at 5.45pm a woman walked to a covered kiosk store in the centre and removed the $89 bottle of perfume.

STANHOPE GARDENS

A Quakers Hill woman, 21, was given a criminal infringement notice of $300 for larceny and has been banned from the Kmart store at Stanhope Village after she allegedly tried to steal toys and clothes at 1pm on Sunday, September 18. The woman entered the store and walked around, taking a number of items including toys, female clothes and a small furry key ring. She put them in a trolley and paid for some of the items in the self-service area of the store. She then attempted to leave the store without paying for some of the items and as a result was stopped by a loss prevention officer, who contacted police.

QUAKERS HILL

A number of colourbond fences on two properties in Millburn St, Quakers Hill, were damaged on Sunday, September 18. At 5.20am on Sunday morning a man described as being of Islander in appearance wearing a dark hoody jumper, hat, black track pants, was seen walking along the St kicking the fences and yelling.
