FITNESS and sports enthusiast Daniel Felstein can’t believe his luck at landing his dream job.
Mr Felstein dabbled in casual jobs after leaving Rouse Hill High School but never really found what he wanted until he started working as a personal trainer at Vision Personal Training, Castle Hill.
“I have always loved being involved in sports and I guess this runs in the family,” the 19-year-old Rouse Hill resident said.
“I started working at Vision Personal Training, 10 months ago, after I completed the course run by Australian Institute of Fitness.
“I love my job and the team I am working with, though I do have an early start, usually around 5.30am.
“We have eight in our team and I have learnt a lot about fitness and diet after starting here because that is a part of what we teach.
“I also work at Grill’d restaurant at Rouse Hill Town Centre and between both jobs, I work around 50 hours a week.
“However, because the fitness centre is getting busier, I am getting more hours here and will probably have to cut down on my work at the restaurant.”
Mr Felstein, the second of four children, has swum competitively with the Riverstone Dolphins and also played rugby union and league for both school and clubs.
The teenager is also into powerlifting and surprised himself by winning bronze at his first competition, the Battle of the Titans in Sydney last month.
The 186cm tall and 89kg teenager lifted 220kg (squats), 135kg (bench press) and a whopping 257.5kg (dead lift) in the competition.
He is working on improving the marks in time for his next event in Castle Hill next month.
