STUDENTS continued their recent ascendancy over their teachers, beating them 2-1 in the annual St John Paul II Catholic College football game.
Layn Mellish scored first for the teachers before the students levelled the scores with a freak goal at the Quakers Hill ground.
The students’ keeper Ryan Hancock set up the equaliser when his long clearance was accidentally knocked into his own nets by teachers’ custodian Chris Chapman.
The students then snatched their victory when Joel Every found the nets in the second half.
This is the second successive win for the students following their 4-2 triumph last year.
