Hundreds of footballers vie for supremacy in Blacktown finals

SOME of best young footballers will be on show at this weekend’s Blacktown District Soccer Football Association grand finals at Blacktown International Sportspark, Rooty Hill.

SOME of best young footballers will be on show at this weekend’s Blacktown District Soccer Football Association grand finals at Blacktown International Sportspark, Rooty Hill.

Action begins today and continues till Sunday afternoon with dozens of teams in different age groups vying for glory.

Blacktown District Soccer Football Association oversees 23 clubs and almost 10, 000 participants

across the City of Blacktown.

Local teams in the finals include Quakers Hill Junior FC, Glenwood, Newbury, Riverstone, Tigers Quakers Hill, Ponds FC and Oakville.

“The Sportspark provides first class facilities for grassroots development all the way through to A-League,” the association CEO Jack Taylor said.

“It is great to have such great facilities right here in Blacktown for our clubs to utilise.”

For the finals, age groups start from under-12 and go all the way through to 0ver-35’s.

Action starts from 8am.
