Twenty-three years after the inaugural X Games introduced extreme sports to mainstream audiences, the hugely popular annual competition will be bringing it’s high-octane action to Australian soil for the first time later this year.
In honour of the 2018 X Games Sydney, Rouse Hill Town Centre delighted local fans last week with a special showcase of the thrill-a-minute entertainment that will be on show when the event kicks off in October.
Australian freestyle motocross team the Freestyle Kings electrified the crowd with a freestyle motocross demonstration while the team of Pat Bowden, Ryan Brown, Luke McNeill and Kurrajong local Lance Russell also hung around to interact with fans during a special meet and greet session.
Also in attendance was the current X Games motocross best trick champion, Jackson Strong.
Dubbed the face of X Games Sydney, the 26 year old from Lockhart, NSW said it was about time Australia finally got its chance to host the event.
“As an Australian athlete, to finally have the X Games here is a really big thing for us,” Strong said.
“We travel the globe to chase the X Games around and to have it on home turf with all of our family and friends there is going to be something really special.
“It’s definitely going to sell out so get in before it’s gone. It’s a show like no other. It’s the biggest show in action sports, so get off the couch and get some tickets.”
