Most sports fans would consider giving one of their pinkies for the chance to spend an hour with one of their sporting heroes.
Well thanks to Kellyville local Aaron Warburton’s new start-up, those dream experiences are more accessible than ever before.
Co-founded with Rod Harys and Kirill Litovchenko, Fan+ aims to connect sports fans with their favourite players, clubs and sports organisations by allowing them to purchase unique VIP experiences.
The start-ups founders have an extensive history in the sports industry with Warburton serving in a variety of commercial roles with both the Canterbury Bulldogs and Parramatta Eels while Harys is a former chief executive of the Sydney Kings.
Drawing on that comprehensive industry experience, the duo began developing a start-up that would hone in on the passion of sports fans and give them access to once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, as many times as they like.
“The aim of Fan+ is to make the inaccessible, accessible,” 34-year-old Warburton says.
“We want to create a centralised marketplace where fans can access really cool experiences with players, clubs and organisations. Fans can pay to sit and have a meal with their favourite players, hang out in the dressing room after a game or even play a round of golf with their sporting heroes.
“We’ve all got that mate who’s a big Parra fan who’s terrible to buy for. With Fan+, three or four friends could pool their money together and give him an experience he’ll never forget.”
In just its first 12 weeks, Fan+ has already offered a meet-and-greet with Usain Bolt in the Central Coast Mariners sheds and sold Collingwood star Adam Treloar’s match-worn boots from this year’s AFL grand final.
Fan+ was also selected as one of three start-ups from more than 350 global applications to take part in Qantas’ acclaimed accelerator program.
