A Quakers Hill preschool has celebrated its 20th anniversary — marking an impressive milestone after the preschool was burned down in 2013 and rebuilt.
Noah’s Ark Preschool is based at Quakers Hill Uniting Church where it celebrated its 20th birthday last month.
Noah’s Ark Preschool director Carinne Wood, who has been at the centre since it opened, said it was a great celebration.
Ms Wood said they started the preschool to provide a place where children could feel accepted and where they could show God’s care for others.
She said the involvement of the community had helped the preschool thrive over the years.
“It’s made special because of the parents’ involvement.
“We have parents who help at working bees and in the program.”
The church building and centre was gutted in a fire in August 2013 but was rebuilt with the help of the community.
The preschool was forced to relocate to Riverstone Uniting Church for 18 months during the rebuild.
The anniversary event last month attracted a huge gathering and included reflections on the past, a song from the children, a barbecue, jumping castle and an animal farm.
