Families in the booming suburb of Marsden Park could soon have another childcare centre to choose from with multimillion-dollar plans being lodged with Blacktown Council.
Bathla Group has submitted plans for a multistorey apartment block with a childcare centre for up to 100 children at the corner of Richmond Rd and Grange Ave, Marsden Park.
The $19.1 million plans would involve the construction of 78 residential units over two blocks with a ground floor childcare centre and basement parking for more than 120 vehicles.
According to planning documents, the centre would cater for children from 0 to six years of age.
The centre would operate between 7am and 6pm from Monday to Friday.
The development is one of several childcare centres proposed for the north west region, with plans for a centre for 122 children in nearby Schofields currently under being determined by the council.
The booming Elara estate will get a new childcare centre as part of a planned $35 million community hub and shopping precinct.
Planning documents showed the units aimed to be “highly affordable”, targeting first home buyers and downsizers moving into the community.
“(The development aims) to better satisfy the increasing demand, the changing social and demographic profile of the community, and the needs of the widest range of people from childhood to old age,” documents read.
Plans for the development will remain on public exhibition until March 4. To have your say, visit the Blacktown Council here.
