Man assaulted outside his own home by a gang of boys

RIVERSTONE
Two boys have been charged with the assault of a Riverstone man, 41, outside his home on McCulloch St on Saturday. Police said the man heard items being thrown at his house at 10.45pm. He walked out the front, and was punched and kicked by the teens until he fell on the ground. One teen tried to rummage through his pockets while assaulting him. Police and paramedics arrived and the man was taken to Blacktown Hospital with minor scratches and bruising. A Riverstone boy, 17, was arrested and charged with affray. He was given bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Children’s Court on May 29. Police also charged a Riverstone boy, 14, with assault and trying to rob in company. He was given conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Children’s Court on June 7.
BEAUMONT HILLS
A Kellyville learner driver, 22, was charged with high-range drink-driving and driving unaccompanied after a collision at Beaumont Hills on Sunday. Police said the man was driving a black BMW at 2am on Tellicherry Circuit when he collided with a Hyundai Elantra sedan and drove away. A witness followed the car to a Comet Circuit address and called police. Police attended and subjected the man to a breath test, which returned a positive result. He was arrested and taken to Riverstone police station for a breath analysis, returning a reading of 0.175. He was issued a notice to appear at Parramatta Court on May 25.
KELLYVILLE
A generator worth $2200 was stolen from the yard of a home in Callander Place, Kellyville, between 5.15pm and 5.30pm on Thursday.
KELLYVILLE
A laptop valued at $2000 was stolen from a home in Greenwood Rd, Kellyville, between 11am and 7pm on Sunday. Police said someone gained entry to the home by forcing open a front ground-floor door.
ROUSE HILL
A man who pretended to be a staff member of Bunnings at Rouse Hill stole two Ryobi nail guns worth $550 on Sunday. Police said the man entered the store through a staff entry between 6.15am and 6.45am, and took the two nail guns. It was later realised the person was not a member of staff. The man was described as being 170-180cm tall, of medium build, with brown hair and wearing a red jumper.
STANHOPE GARDENS
A couple got the shock of their lives when a man tried to steal the woman’s black leather handbag off her shoulder as they walked at Stanhope Gardens on Wednesday morning. Police said the 45-year-old woman and the 44-year-old man were walking along Watford Drive at 8.10am when the man approached and tried to grab the woman’s handbag off her shoulder. The bag strap broke and fell to the floor. The man was last seen running away to Northwood St and disappearing into the field next to the Blacktown Leisure Centre. The man was described as Indian in appearance, 175cm tall, of medium build, and wearing a jacket with two white stripes down the side of each palm, dark jeans and blue shoes with white stripes.
