Licence suspended after a man is caught driving erratically and under the influence of alcohol

A Kellyville man, 42, had his licence suspended after he returned a positive breath test after police stopped a silver Toyota Hi-lux on Windsor Rd, Kellyville, on Sunday due to erratic driving behaviour.

KELLYVILLE

A Kellyville man, 42, had his licence suspended after he returned a positive breath test after police stopped a silver Toyota Hi-lux on Windsor Rd, Kellyville, on Sunday due to erratic driving behaviour. A police report said between 2.45pm and 3.15pm police observed the Toyota Hi-lux swerving in and out of lanes one and two before mounting a kerb. Once police stopped the driver he was submitted to a breath test which returned a positive reading. He was taken to Castle Hill Police Station where he returned a breath analysis reading of .145. He was charged with driving with a mid-range prescribed concentration of alcohol in his system and is due to appear at Parramatta Court on September 13.

OAKVILLE

Investigations continue into a collision between a motorcycle and a van along Old Pitt Town Rd in Oakville last Wednesday. A police report said just after 9pm emergency services were called Oakville following reports of a crash between a motorcycle and a van. Initial investigations suggest the rider lost control on the approach to a bend, with the bike dropping to the road surface and slid onto the incorrect side of the road and into the path of an approaching van. The motorcyle rider, a 26-year-old man, was treated at the scene by Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition. The driver of the van was breath tested at the scene with a negative result. Investigations are continuing.

KELLYVILLE

A 19 year-old man suffered critical head injuries when a double brick wall under construction fell on him in Bolton Circuit, Kellyville on Wednesday. Emergency services were alerted at around 9.40am to a wall collapse at a work site in Kellyville. The construction worker was pulled unconscious by co-workers from underneath the pile of bricks, which collapsed during highly windy conditions. CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter landed on a nearby vacant block. NSW Ambulance crews were soon on scene treating the man. NSW Fire and Rescue crews also attended. CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic treated the man at the scene for critical head injuries and placed him in an induced coma. The medical team continued treatment as the man was taken by road ambulance to Westmead Hospital in critical condition were he underwent surgery. Emergency services were also called to a construction site in Barellan Ave, Carlingford where a brick wall collapsed just before 10am on the same day and a man in his 30s went into a cardiac arrest. He could not be revived.

QUAKERS HILL

NSW Fair Trading and police from the Quakers Hill local area command are warning residents about a gang of tree loppers which have returned to the area and bullied and tricked elderly residents into paying for unnecessary work. Quakers Hill LAC senior constable Sue Carter said the tree loppers do not need licences but are not legally allowed to take money from consumers until 10 days after work was carried out.“If you require any home maintenance, please conduct your own inquiries through business directories, reputable advertisements or by being recommended through a friend.’’ If you feel that you are being harassed or intimidated by these type of people please call Riverstone Police Station on 9838 2199.
