Hills Bulls have the Nathan Gremmo Memorial Shield in their trophy cupboard with a smashing 50-6 victory over Guildford in the Ron Massey Cup rugby league clash On Sunday though the biggest winner was organ donation awareness.

Bulls president Michael Gremmo said each year the memorial shield — played in honour of his late son — attracted more crowds, showing the close community spirit and support for the cause. Nathan was critically injured while crossing the road in 2015, with his family donating his organs to five adults and a baby.

Hours before his death Nathan wrote on his Instagram account: “You only live once but if you do it right once is enough”.

“It is an emotional day for us and the players played outstandingly well,” said Gremmo, who handed over the team jerseys before the start of the game.

“The community support has been overwhelming and so many came to support Nathan’s legacy for organ donation.

“The waiting list on the organ donor list is down as a result of this (support).”

The Gremmo family began the Jersey Day to spread awareness about the importance of organ donation.
