Hay fire near fuel tank a recipe for disaster

A LARGE hay stack is on fire along Hawkesbury Valley Way, near Mulgrave Rd in Mulgrave.

UP to 1000 hay bales have caught alight along Hawkesbury Valley Way, near Mulgrave Rd in Mulgrave.

NSW Fire and Rescue were called out to a fire at 1.40pm.

Reports of smoke from the fire can be seen throughout the Rouse Hill area and neighbouring suburbs.

Numerous crews along with crews from the Rural Fire Service remain at the scene and are working to protect a large fuel tank and electrical kiosk, along with trying to extinguish the blaze.

All workers from a nearby factory have been evacuated.

So far there are no reports it has impacted the nearby train line or caused any road closures.
