Drug `ice’ found on woman during random breath test

A Riverstone woman, 46, has been charged with possessing a prohibited drug after police stopped her driving a white Lexus for a random breath test in Alex Ave, Schofields, at 10.50pm on Saturday.

SCHOFIELDS/RIVERSTONE

A Riverstone woman, 46, has been charged with possessing a prohibited drug after police stopped her driving a white Lexus for a random breath test in Alex Ave, Schofields, at 10.50pm on Saturday. Police said they noticed a clear resealable bag, and searched the car and the woman. They found 0.29g of the drug ice. The woman is set to appear at Blacktown Local Court on August 22.

VINEYARD

A Vineyard man, 24, was caught twice on Saturday driving with a suspended licence. Highway patrol officers saw the man driving a Hyundai on River­stone Pde in Vineyard at 11.15pm and issued him with a field court attendance notice for driving while suspended. Then at 11.30pm, police saw the Hyundai driving along Riverstone Pde with the same man behind the wheel. He was taken to Windsor police station and granted conditional bail to appear before Windsor Local Court in August.

KELLYVILLE

The jaws of life were used to free a person trapped in their car after a bus and two cars collided on Memorial Ave in Kellyville on Thursday at 7.28pm. Firefighters from Kellyville and Blacktown attended. The driver of one car was taken to hospital for treatment and the road was reopened after long delays.

QUAKERS HILL

Police are on the hunt for a man who stole two cash drawers worth up to $1800 from a Woolworths supermarket in Quakers Hill at 9pm last Tuesday. Police said the man was described as caucasian and was wearing a black hat, fluoro orange hoodie jacket, grey pants and black shoes. He was last seen leaving in a silver Toyota Seca.

MULGRAVE

Police are seeking information about two break-ins in the Mulgrave industrial area on Saturday, July 9. In the early hours of Saturday a shipping container was forced open in the grounds of a business on Curtis Rd, Mulgrave. Copper piping and tools were stolen. The items were found within the grounds of the business next door. The owner of the next-door premises arrived after being contacted by his security firm and found a man – aged in his mid-30s, about 170cm tall, with short dark hair – at the rear of his premises. The man ran off. About 7am that same morning, police attended a business in Cunneen St, Mulgrave, and found the rear door had been forced open. Anyone with information should contact Windsor police on 4587 4099.

THE PONDS

A gas hot water system worth $1400 was removed from the external side wall of a house in Lomandra Cres, The Ponds, between 10am on Thursday and 8pm on Saturday.

ACACIA GARDENS

A silver Mitsubishi Triton ute was broken in on Parkview Way, Acacia Gardens, some time between 10am on Sunday and 7am on Monday. Trade tools worth $2400 were stolen.

RIVERSTONE

A home in Deirdre Drive, Riverstone, was ransacked and up to $2850 worth of jewellery stolen between 9am and 11am last Monday.
