GLENWOOD: POLICE allege a 38-year-old woman told them she had drunk six shots of vodka and had four sleeping tablets before getting in her car and hitting a parked car at Glenwood shopping centre at 6.50pm on Thursday.
They also say she was a disqualified driver.
Police said bystanders took the car keys off the woman at the scene of the collision because they believed she had been drinking.
Quakers Hill Highway patrol arrested the woman after they breathalysed her.
Police allege another test at Riverstone police station showed a mid-range 0.109 blood alcohol level and the woman was already disqualified from driving because of past drink driving offences.
Her traffic record showed she had been convicted of drink driving offences in 2008, 2016 and 2017.
Police said the woman told them she had drunk four shots of vodka at 6am with two sleeping pills and then another two shots of vodka at 2pm with two more sleeping pills.
The Acacia Gardens woman allegedly told police she was on a disability pension and had driven to the shops to buy more vodka and cigarettes because she had run out.
She was charged with driving while disqualified and driving with middle range prescribed concentration of alcohol.
The woman was granted bail and ordered to appear before Blacktown Court next month.
KENHURST: A honey seller was attacked by three men who demanded $1000 on Thursday just after 7pm.
The man was selling honey from his roadside stall on Kenthurst Rd when the men — described as South Pacific Islanders and in their 20s — jumped from a grey late model Holden Commodore and said, “give us your money”.
Police said the man offered them $50 but one of them said, “we want $1000” and they pushed the man back when he started to stand up. They drove off when they realised they were on CCTV.
CASTLE HILL: A driver who left his two small children — aged two and four — in the car alone with the rear windows down told police he did so because they were asleep.
Police gave the father a warning after they were called to a carpark near Castle Hill Fitness on Castle St on Wednesday at 6pm. A fitness centre employee called police after a passer-by saw the children in the Mercedes-Benz SUV but when officers arrived the children had gone. They found the owner with the children who said he did not realise he had committed a crime.
BEAUMONT HILLS: A 51-year-old Terrigal man tested positive for cannabis when he was stopped on Windsor Rd on Saturday, January 6, at 8am.
He was banned from driving for 24 hours and handed a court attendance notice.
MCGRATHS HILL: A 56-year-old man was taken to hospital in a stable condition after the horses charged him when he was walking his dog at McGraths Hill on Wednesday afternoon. CareFlight staff said he fell unconscious when the three horses charged towards him, “causing him to fall and suffer a heavy blow to the head”.
NSW Ambulance said it happened just before 4pm on Wolseley Rd.
CASTLE HILL: Never leave your valuables in your car is the message from police after another wallet was stolen from a parked vehicle.
A Toyota Hilux ute owner who parked the car at Hoyle Ave on Friday about 8.30pm returned to it Saturday morning and found the passenger side window had been smashed.
A backpack, laser level tool and a ratchet set valued at $1175 were also stolen.
CASTLE HILL: A phone, driver's licence, money and keycard worth $1000 were stolen from the Hillside Hotel on Saturday when an 18-year-old Westleigh woman left her purse on the table just after midnight.
SCHOFIELDS: A suspicious package at Schofields station brought the T1 line to a halt on Saturday just after 12.30pm.
Police called Rescue and Bomb Disposal unit officers who examined the item and found it was not dangerous or suspicious. The station was closed for over an hour and services stopped.
CARLINGFORD: Police were driving a patrol car on North Rocks Rd last Wednesday at 11.50pm when they saw a Mercedes Benz Kompressor speeding behind them.
When the driver realised he was tailgating a police car he braked heavily. The officers did a U-turn and stopped the car in Alkira Rd. The driver, a 66-year-old Cheltenham man, underwent a breath test. He had a low range drink drive alcohol level of 0.055. The man said he had three glasses of wine in an hour after playing tennis. He will appear in court next month.
ROUSE HILL: Police are hunting for a man who stole two Samsung hifi speakers and then ran off through an alarmed rear fire door at JB HiFi at Rouse Hill Town Centre on Sunday at 2.09pm.
The culprit was caught on CCTV holding $1000 worth of speakers. Police are reviewing the security tapes.
KELLYVILLE RIDGE: A 17-year-old Kellyville Ridge boy was given a cannabis caution after police were called to stop a group of young men doing burnouts on Castle Towers’ top floor carpark on Sunday.
As police searched the men and their vehicles they found a black bag with a resealable plastic bag inside containing cannabis. He was arrested and given a youth caution.
KELLYVILLE RIDGE: Thieves stole $100,000 in cash and a laptop computer from a house at Claremont St on Saturday between 2pm and 8pm after ransacking all the rooms. Police are carrying out forensic tests and want to track down a black Suzuki Swift seen in the area at the time.
