Call for help sees man arrested for domestic violence and later charged with armed robbery and carjacking

A man was charged with armed robbery and carjacking after he was initially arrested following a domestic violence incident in Regent St, Riverstone, on Thursday morning.

RIVERSTONE

A man was charged with armed robbery and carjacking after he was initially arrested following a domestic violence incident in Regent St, Riverstone, on Thursday morning. Police responded to an urgent call for assistance to the house after a man was seen chasing a woman down the street shortly after 7am. Officers confronted the Whalan man, 21, and used spray to enable his arrest. The man was taken to Riverstone Police Station where he was charged with 11 offences as well as an outstanding warrant: robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contravene AVO, common assault, destroy property, drive while disqualified, drive unregistered vehicle, display misleading numberplates and breach of bail. Police allege the armed robbery and carjacking occurred in the Blacktown on Sunday, April 23. He was refused bail.

QUAKERS HILL

A QUAKERS Hill man, 29, had his licence suspended and confiscated when he was charged with high rage drink-driving on Wednesday. At 8.50pm police stopped a silver Holden Commodore for its manner of driving along Burdekin Rd, Quakers Hill. Police conducted a random breath test which came back positive. The man was arrested and taken back to Riverstone Police Station where a breath analysis was conducted and returned reading of 0.177. The man was also charged with not keeping left of dividing line and is appear at Blacktown Local Court on May 29.

KELLYVILLE RIDGE

A QUAKERS Hill man, 22, was charged with low range prescribed concentration of alcohol in his blood after police stopped the black BMW he was driving along Old Windsor Rd, Kellyville Ridge, and conducted a random breath test on him on Sunday morning. A police report said at 2.30am, they stopped the driver of the BMW for a RBT and he returned a positive result. A breath analysis done at Castle Hill Police Station returned a low range reading of .069. He is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court on June 7.

ROUSE HILL

A silver Toyota Corolla received a scratch to its bonnet as it was parked along Bara Way in Rouse Hill sometime between 8am and 3pm on Saturday.

QUAKERS HILL

POWER tools, a radio, torch and batteries were stolen from a toolbox off the rear of a white Isuzu ute which was parked outside a residence in Picton St, Quakers Hill, some time between 5am and 6.30am on Thursday. A police report said the thief forced open the locks on the toolbox before stealing the items. Anyone who may have witnesses the incident should contact Riverstone Police Station.

STANHOPE GARDENS

JEWELLERY, a rug and sunglasses were stolen from a blue Mazda 3 parked outside a residence on Croyde St, Stanhope Gardens, sometime between 4pm last Monday and 1pm last Tuesday. If anyone witnessed the incident they should contact Crime Stoppers or Riverstone Police Station on 9838 2199.

GLENWOOD

POLICE are on the hunt for a man who stole several bunches of flowers worth $150 from the display stand at the Woolworths Supermarket in Glenwood Drive, Glenwood. The man is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, 55-years old with balding hair and wearing grey shorts and a white T-shirt. He was last seen getting into a black Ford Falcon and leaving the scene. Police attended and are investigating.

MCGRATHS HILL

An airconditioning unit worth $1200 was stolen from a retail store located along Old Windsor Rd in McGraths Hill sometime between 2pm and 2.15pm last Monday. A police report said a man entered the store through the trade entry picked up the Mitsubishi airconditioning unit put it on a trolley and put it into the rear of a ute and left without paying for it. Police are investigating the incident
