A GRUESOME assault on a former member of the Finks Outlaw Motorcycle Gang in Vineyard last year has led to the arrest of four alleged bikie members.

The former member was allegedly beaten so badly he lost hearing in one ear, was sexually assaulted, and had boiling water poured over his neck and upper body to remove a tattoo linking him to the Finks.

The alleged assault happened in December in a hotel room in Vineyard.

Police were contacted on December 18 after cleaners found blood splattered over the walls and furnishings inside the hotel room.

Last month, police released CCTV footage of six men they were seeking information about in relation to the assault. Search warrants were carried out on Tuesday morning across northwest Sydney and four members of the gang were arrested aged 22, 24, 27 and 35. A woman was also arrested for her involvement. More arrests are expected in the near future, police say.

NSW Gangs Squad commanding officer Detective Superintendent Deborah Wallace said police worked with the victim before making the arrests.

“The raids this morning and subsequent arrests have been the result of an investigation that Strike Force Raptor has been conducting in relation to the kidnapping, sexual assault and serious assault of a former member of the Finks.”

She said the motive behind the assault was likely related to the member leaving the gang.

“Police will allege that the victim was either planning to leave the outlaw motorcycle gang, or they did not want him in the gang.”

She said the man’s injuries were extensive following the brutal attack.

“On the 18th of December the former member went to a hotel room in a hotel in Vineyard.

“At that time he was then seriously assaulted by physical force and also a [wooden] weapon.

“He was also burnt with boiling water and was also stabbed in the knee.

“Police will allege that [during this time] the victim lost hearing in one ear, suffered significant bruising, a fractured skull and also fracture to the cheeks.”

She said it was common within outlaw motorcycle gang culture to have certain tattoos removed upon leaving.

“This is quite consistent with outlaw motorcycle culture when you leave a club on bad standing or good standing, you must remove all identifiers that you have been a member of that outlaw motorcycle gang. And if you don’t remove it it will be removed by force.”

Detective Superintendent Wallace said the man had been invited to the hotel room before being assaulted.
