TRENDY is the new description for Schofields, now a new cafe has arrived.
Limestone Cafe looks like it has been taken from the streets of Newtown and placed along Railway Terrace in Schofields.
Owned by cousins Ben and Stephen Sultana, this cafe has become a hit with locals since opening just eight weeks ago.
“I have always wanted to open a cafe, as I also own a civil company of earth work trucks and equipment,’’ Ben Sultana said.
While Ben is the financial backer, Stephen is the chef who has added a touch of Malta with the decor and touches of Maltese flavours to the menu.
To check out this winning formula, my dining partner Tamara Smith and I taste- tested the day’s special of meatball arancini with pea puree and four cheese sauce.
This dish was very creamy and satisfying and went well with the generous serving of haloumi and avocado salad which was tastefully drizzled with a balsamic vinaigrette.
Limestone Cafe also serves up some mean hamburgers including its 950 legend sliders, which offers you a taste of its three favourite chicken, beef and pork burgers.
