A 22-year-old woman, driving an allegedly stolen Ford Focus has been arrested and charged following a police pursuit in Sydney’s west overnight, which ended in her hiding underneath a house.

Police allege the chase started in Cranebrook at 11:20pm, when Penrith Highway Patrol officers attempted to stop a white hatchback travelling down the road without lights on.

It is then alleged the driver of the white Ford Focus — which was reported stolen from Shalvey on June 1 — refused to stop, instead driving off with police pursuing her throughout Llandillo and Willmot.

The car was then dumped in Whalan before the woman ran and hid under a house at Kurama Cr before being arrested at around 12:20am by officers from Mt Druitt Police Station.

Eye witnesses reported seeing two police cars flying down Whalan chasing a white hatch back, with multiple officers scattered throughout the area.

The Whalan woman was charged with police pursuit not stop, drive conveyance without consent of owner, and not licensed driver drive on the road. She was bail refused to appear at Penrith Local Court on Tuesday.
