Before police arrived at the scene, two men – aged 18 and 19 – had presented themselves to Bankstown police station with stab wounds.
They were treated by officers until paramedics arrived, however, 18-year-old Iyzaa Naden died after he was allegedly stabbed in front of his mother. The 19-year-old was taken to Westmead Hospital where he underwent surgery and he has since been released.
The Sunday Telegraph previously reported a relative said Mr Naden’s last words were: “Help mum, I can’t breathe”.
Officers from Blacktown police with the assistance of State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad investigated the incident under Strike Force Cooey and after inquiries, two boys – aged 16 and 17 – were charged and remain before the courts.
As part of ongoing investigations, three boys – two aged 15 and a 16-year-old – were arrested after attending Blacktown police station in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
They have each been charged with murder and cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder.
They have all been refused bail to appear at a children’s court today.
As previously reported by News Corp, police said on Saturday the melee occurred when a number of youths got off a bus and started to brawl with another group that was on the side of Power St.
