A week after the breakdown of an 18-month relationship, Swift received a distressed call from her son who said he was heading to his ex-partner’s Blackett home.

The court heard Swift’s son allegedly smashed car windows outside the victim’s home about 1am on March 29 last year, before entering the home through a window while armed with a hammer.

At this point Swift arrived and the court heard she entered the home through the same window as her son allegedly was attacking two men with the hammer.

At one point the former lover of Swift’s son tried to stop the violence, but was pushed by Swift who called her a “slut” and punched her in the jaw.

The Bidwill woman fled the scene with her son before being arrested by police later the same day.

In court, Magistrate Fiona Toose chastised the 42-year-old mother.

“You are a parent and should know better,” she said.

The 42-year-old was sentenced for assault.
