Peter Zervas, 47, Sozo Loukis, 59 and John Weyman return to court over alleged Cranebrook kidnapping

Three men, including a former Hells Angels bikie, who are facing charges over their alleged involvement in a violent kidnapping in western Sydney have had their matters return to court.

Three men including a former Hells Angels bikie who are facing charges over their alleged involvement in a violent kidnapping in western Sydney have had their matters return to court.

Peter Zervas, 47, Sozo Loukis, 59 and John Matthew Weyman 36, had their cases briefly mentioned in Penrith Local Court on Friday over their alleged involvement in the kidnapping and brutal assault of a 31-year-old man in Cranebrook last year.

It is alleged on October 31, the man was detained for hours at a house where he was subjected to a string of violent assaults leaving him with several injuries.

When police attended the residence after responding to a concern for welfare call the three men allegedly tried to flee on foot before they were located by a police helicopter.

Zervas, who is a former Hell’s Angels bikie, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm and detaining the man to gain financial advantage.

The 47-year-old is also the brother of slain bikie Anthony Zervas, who was infamously killed during a bloody airport brawl in 2009.

Soza Loukis is facing the same set of charges, and John Matthew Weyman has been charged with detaining the man and causing him actual bodily harm.

The three accused are yet to enter a plea over the charges.

On Friday, the police prosecutor told the court they needed more time to serve their brief of evidence, requesting an extension of up to four weeks.

The trio remain behind bars on remand while the matters proceed through the courts, with Friday’s courtroom hearing Zervas had been in custody for two months.

The cases will return to Penrith Local Court on February 10.
