The winner of the Penrith region’s cutest baby for 2023 has finally been announced.
While each baby is adorable in their own special way, it’s time to crown the little one who has stolen the most hearts across the region.
The little legend who took out the crown for this year was Carter McSpadden, from Cranebrook, who is five months old.
Mum Ally Simpson said Carter was her miracle baby after a difficult journey to fall pregnant.
Born at Nepean Hospital through the Caseload Midwife Program, Ms Simpson’s midwife Amy made the journey “smooth and wonderful”, while being extremely “kind and amazing” to the couple.
“I had a C-section performed by Dr Nikhil Patravali who made it the most amazing experience ever – the nurses took photos and videos for us the entire time, so we have so many memories,” she said.
“He has the biggest smile, which takes up his whole face, he’s the happiest baby.
She said he was constantly laughing.
Loving sleep and food, Carter will eat “anything you put in front of him” or snooze all day.
Ms Simpson shared how her son has a 14-year-old sister who is the “apple of his eye”.
“She’s like his second mum … they are always together,” she said.
With more than 50 nominations in the competition, one-year-old Cooper and five-week-old Phoenix came second and third.
