The court was told a dispute over drugs between King, Weeks and another woman was what sparked the alleged attack.

Police will allege the woman was tied up while her house was boarded up and a coffee table was leant against the a window, before King allegedly punched her in the eye twice and Weeks picked up a wooden dining chair and threw it over the woman’s head.

King then allegedly choked the woman with a curtain and dragged her to the ground, as her ankles were tied together. He allegedly stomped on her head as Weeks said “leave some for me” before she joined the alleged attack.

The court was told the alleged victim drifted in and out of consciousness during the attack.

Weeks and King then allegedly scribbled a fake suicide note on the back of a receipt and left the woman for dead.

Emergency services were called and found the alleged victim, before a crime scene was established.

Weeks was arrested on February 25 and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station.

The alleged victim suffered a large wound to her head, bruised eyes, injuries to her kidney and liver and a dislocated shoulder, among other injuries.

The court heard Weeks was diagnosed with schizophrenia, which had been treated in the community for more than 20 years, but while in custody was not receiving any medication.

This was also her first time in custody, having been on conditional release orders at the time of the alleged offences.

The court heard King was a negative influence on Weeks and that if their contact stopped, Weeks would not be as inclined to use drugs outside of custody.

However, Magistrate Brian Van Zulyen denied Weeks bail. She was remanded in custody and is next expected to face court on May 2.
