The fences are up as construction begins on an exciting new outdoor dining precinct at a popular Penrith shopping centre.
Nepean Village, owned and run by Vicinity Centres, started work earlier this year on a precinct that will welcome three new dining operators to the centre.
The project, which is expected to cost about $2 million, will tie in existing tenants Percy Plunkett and Gloria Jeans, as well as the brand-new El Gringos Locos restaurant on the Station St frontage of the shopping centre.
Nepean Village centre manager Sonia Davis said the project was expected to be completed in the next few months.
“Our vision is to create a new all-day outdoor dining precinct that will be a great destination to catch up with friends and family for a meal, coffee, or drinks all year round,” she said.
“Our new dynamic outdoor dining precinct will leverage off the heritage character of the Station St building, providing our customers with more choice and variety throughout the day and night.
“Works are underway, and we are excited to deliver a new dining precinct for our local community.”
The project will include an outdoor playground, extensive indoor-outdoor seating, and “lush landscaped gardens and pergolas”.
The three new dining operators are yet to be made public.
The news comes almost 12 months after Westfield Penrith was approved for a similar dining precinct near the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre.
