A western Sydney woman who allegedly played a role in running large-scale drugs into the community has been granted bail in the NSW Supreme Court.

Michelle De La Quoir, 41, faced court from custody at the Dillwynia Correctional Centre in Berkshire Park on Monday, where she formally applied for bail.

She is charged with two counts of supplying drugs more or equal to a large commercial quantity. She has not entered any pleas.

Three people sat in the back of the court during her appearance.

The court was told De La Quoir’s alleged offending spanned from February 20, 2024, until she was arrested in May 2024.

The allegations include claims she had a role in a large-scale drug scheme, which were imported and then onsold into the community.

However, specific details into her alleged role in supplying the drugs, and which drugs she is accused of helping circulate, were not shared in open court.

Police were allegedly led to De La Quoir through phone intercepts and surveillance.

The court was told De La Quoir had come from a difficult background, marred by “suffering and abuse” and did not have a criminal record before the age of 38.

The alleged offending, according to Crown prosecutors, was the result of a drug dependency and a gambling addiction.

Concerns were raised about risks to the community should De La Quoir be released, but Justice Tim Faulkner chose to grant bail on the condition she immediately be transferred to a residential rehabilitation facility.

The court was told De La Quoir will spend four months at the facility while her case progresses through court.

Her matter is next expected to be heard in the Penrith Local Court on July 18.
