Orchard Hills could soon be home to a new service station complex under plans lodged with Penrith Council.
Altis Property Partners has teamed up with KDC for a complex on Mamre Rd near Distribution Drive, Orchard Hills, that would include a service station with three fast-food restaurants.
One of the restaurants would be a stand-alone facility with a drive-through, while the other two would be in a joint building at the western end of the complex.
The plans do not specify which service station or restaurants would be a part of the complex at this stage.
A spokesman for KDC said some road changes would need to be made to accommodate the complex in a report to the council.
“The proposal includes reconfiguration of the existing estate road and the creation of a new slip lane on Mamre Rd which provides direct access to the site,” they said.
“There would also be 106 car spaces, including three accessible spaces, external building signage and site signage, and considered landscaping around the site.”
The service station is planned to have five double-sided bowsers under a standard fuel canopy, with storage for 180,000L of fuel in specialised fibreglass tanks.
The planner said the service station and the stand-alone restaurant would operate 24 hours a day, while the two other restaurants would open from 7am to 6pm.
“The proposed development will provide valuable services and convenient facilities for residents living within the surrounding area, employees within the Mamre West Industrial Precinct, and motorists travelling along Mamre Rd,” they said.
“Given the merit of the design and the absence of any significant adverse environmental impacts, the DA is considered to be in the public’s interest and worthy of the council’s support.”
