A man has been arrested over allegations he choked a woman in a western Sydney home less than six months after admitting to contravening an AVO protecting the same woman.

Jye Matthew Roach-Reid, 27, of Bidwill, was arrested after he allegedly terrorised a woman, who we chose not to name, inside her Kingswood unit on the afternoon of February 2.

Police will allege Mr Roach-Reid broke into the woman’s address on George St, Kingswood, at about 3.30pm.

They will allege he then choked the woman without her consent, assaulted her, and stole $120, a soundbar, and an iPhone from her before leaving at about 4.20pm.

According to court documents, Mr Roach-Reid was on bail for other allegations from August last year, and also on parole from another set of unknown offences.

He was arrested on February 3, and charged with break and enter with intent, intentionally choke a person without consent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, stealing from a person, and contravening an AVO.

Police prosecutors also brought a detention application before the court as he breached his bail with the alleged offending.

According to court documents, Mr Roach-Reid was on bail over allegations involving the same woman on August 25 last year.

Police allege he went to the home of the same woman in the morning and intimidated her before damaging a mobile phone.

Mr Roach-Reid previously pleaded guilty to charges of contravening an AVO and destroy or damage property, but is fighting two charges of stalk or intimidate with intent to cause fear in court.

He appeared before Magistrate Stephen Corry at Mt Druitt Local Court on Thursday where he didn’t apply for bail.

Magistrate Corry revoked the previous bail, and advised Mr Roach-Reid he was subject to a parole authority warrant that would revoke an intensive corrections order.

He will next appear in Mt Druitt Local Court on February 18.
