A Hawkesbury man will spend at least another six weeks behind bars on remand on a string of serious drugs and weapons charges.
John Lionel Myers, 50, was arrested last week after detectives from Strike Force Raptor searched his Richmond home.
During the search, detectives allegedly found a .38 calibre pistol, ammunition, cannabis and crystal methamphetamine (ice).
Myers was arrested and taken to Windsor police station where he was charged with two counts of possess a prohibited drug, possess an unauthorised firearm, possess an unregistered firearm, not keep a firearm safely, and possess ammunition without holding a permit.
He originally faced Penrith Local Court on July 24 where he was bail refused, and faced the court again on Friday morning.
Myers’s lawyer did not reapply for bail during a brief mention before Magistrate Geoffrey Hiatt.
The prosecution told the court the DPP had elected to take control of the matters as some of the charges were indictable.
The DPP requested a six-week adjournment to prepare a brief of evidence which was granted by Magistrate Hiatt.
Myers will next appear in court on September 11.
