Teenager dies afer being hit by a car in Colyton

A teenager has died after they were hit by a car in Sydney’s west on Monday afternoon.

A teenager has died after being hit by a car in Colyton this afternoon.

Just after 2pm, emergency services were called to the Great Western Highway following reports that a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command attended, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics, and treated a 14-year-old girl for head injuries.

Police were told that a White Nissan Pulsar, driven by a 43-year-old woman, collided with the teen near Bennett St.

The 14-year-old was taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Despite efforts, she died on the way to the hospital.

All east bound lanes are closed on the Great Western Highway with traffic being diverted down Sydney Street.

The driver of the Nissan has been taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Inquiries are continuing into the crash and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
