Caleb Valeri: Melissa Goodwin ex lover hit with DV charges

An aspiring rapper has faced court accused of beating his ex-prison guard flame, Melissa Goodwin. The 25-year-old made headlines earlier this year when she face court over allegations of a jailhouse affair with an inmate at Silverwater.

An aspiring rapper who had a relationship with a glamorous prison guard is accused of violently assaulting her.

Caleb Valeri, 24, of St Clair, is charged with intimidating and assaulting Melissa Goodwin in Ingleburn in August, just three months after she was charged over an alleged jailhouse affair with an inmate at Silverwater jail.

Police allege Valeri intimidated and assaulted Ms Goodwin, 25, during a violent altercation on August 31.

He was arrested on Wednesday and taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with the offences.

Ms Goodwin, a former Corrective Services NSW officer, made headlines for her arrest over an alleged sexual relationship with an inmate in May.

At the time of her arrest, police alleged Ms Goodwin had had sexual encounters on five separate occasions over seven months with inmate Corey London, 21.

CSNSW had temporarily stood Ms Goodwin down from her job while they investigated the nature of the relationship between her and Valeri.

She faces no charges over her romantic links to Mr Valeri and there are no allegations that suggest her relationship with the rapper was inappropriate.

Valeri faced Penrith Local Court on Friday, where he applied for release, but it was refused by Magistrate Bree Chisholm.

The case will return to Campbelltown Local Court next month.

The court heard that Mr Valeri, will fight a string of unrelated domestic violence offences relating to an alleged assault on a male relative.

Mr Valeri faces several charges over the incident in St Clair last November, including, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, affray, intimidation causing fear of harm and motor bikie offences.

He pleaded not guilty to the offences and will defend the allegations at a hearing at Penrith Local Court next year.

The aspiring rapper goes by the name of Hoodrich Hefner on YouTube and has released songs titled Wipe Em Off Set, I Got Me, HoodFellas’, and Won’t Fold.

Ms Goodwin is charged with public office misconduct and engaging in a relationship with an inmate, causing a safety risk. She is on bail and remains before the courts.
