Plans for an additional 250 homes to be built in an expanding estate in Penrith have been revealed.
A $19 million proposal to dramatically expand the Caddens housing estate was submitted to Penrith City Council this month, proposing the construction of a further 251 new homes to the already expansive community.
The development application for 46-66 O’Connell St, Caddens will see new homes built across 13 stages on a major land parcel neighbouring the Nepean Kingswood TAFE campus and the recently opened Caddens Corner shopping centre.
“The development site is also within proximity to Kingswood Commercial Precinct, local schools, child care facilities and Caddens & Settlers Place Estate Werrington, two of Penrith’s newest residential estate that is currently undergoing extensive land preparation, subdivision and development of residential dwellings,” the planner said.
Stage one of the Caddens residential development saw the approval of 15 “super lots” with 390 homes.
The developer said the new plans would see “a more traditional residential subdivision” with blocks ranging from 266sq m to 551sq m.
A series of two-storey homes including three bedrooms are expected for the expanded state.
Developers behind the major project purchased the 5.6 hectare site in 2019 for $28.2 million.
