Head allegedly entered the female change rooms in the media company’s Pirrama Rd office between 10.10am and 10.30am on January 22.

According to court documents, as a 45-year-old woman bathed he allegedly “did use his mobile phone to view the victim in a private act being naked while taking a shower”.

The woman noticed the phone peering over her shower cubicle and attempted to give chase.

She reported it to police and Head was arrested by a Sydney City Police Area Command detective the following day in Glebe.

It is not understood how Head came to be within the offices of the newspaper.

Nine, the publisher of the Sydney Morning Herald, said in a statement: “It is a matter before the court so we can’t comment. He was not an employee of ours and our focus has been on the well-being of our people.”

The accused was dressed formally in a maroon long sleeve shirt and accompanied by a female supporter during his court appearance.

According to his Facebook profile, Head attended Chifley College and is originally from Mount Druitt.
